Inspire Downtown is a great place to live! The professionalism that I have experienced with the leasing staff and management (Michelle, AJ, Suede, and Tammie) has been quite impressive. They really go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Michelle assisted me with the move-in process and was super friendly and helpful. The maintenance team always responds quickly and in an efficient manner. The cleaners are hardworking and keep the hallway on my floor and the rest of the common areas looking pristine. I highly recommend Inspire Downtown!
My fiancé and I moved in together and felt that the Penthouse was the best option for us. Michelle, AJ and Suede have been wonderful to work with as they helped us transition from the 10th Floor up to the Penthouse. We love the community the Inspire brings and the staff are wonderful and accommodating. We hope to stay here as long as we can!
You have to accept several caveats living in any apartment complex and especially downtown in pretty much any American city, so there are several caveats that apply and I'm not judging Inspire based on those factors since they apply to all of the options a person might consider in the area.
Check reviews for other apartment complexes in the area and you'll see numerous horror stories, constant car thefts and such. While there's really no 100% perfect solution to this problem, I believe Inspire's parking garage is the most secure of the options: since it's also public parking it requires payment to leave the garage or you're gated in, making actual car thefts very difficult. Reserved parking is behind another gate on the 5th floor that requires fob access for an extra level of security--thought this is pretty easy to bypass if someone is determined, like most security.
Cops won't care about your car break-in if it happens anywhere, even if you have proof or security camera footage, that's just not how the system works; they have bigger fish to fry, or not fry as it were. Break-ins and thefts of items from inside your car are still possible of course but even full-time security presence doesn't really deter this in my experience.
Don't leave anything of value where you can see it through your car windows. It's just the nature of downtown living in a country that doesn't provide safety nets for mental illness, addiction, and the unhoused population but makes guns cheap and plentiful for all. Yeehaw.
The leasing office people are professional and quick to resolve issues. Maintenance is wonderful and fast.
Street noise is pretty chill for a downtown but it's there. People are going to have fun at the roof-deck pool and play music. Anyone complaining about noise but chooses to live downtown should probably re-evaluate living anywhere downtown.
Location is great, especially with the recently finished improvements to the San Pedro Creek Linear Park and with the Alameda Theater soon to re-open. Highly walkable.
The downsides essentially are stuff the complex and staff can't do much about and will be just as bad or worse in other downtown apartment complexes. The rest is good and pretty high quality across the board.
If you have realistic expectations, this is a solid choice.
The Inspire costs more than what it’s worth. The amenities are excellent but the management is looking to get every penny out of you. It has especially gone downhill under Grey Star management.
The late fees are the max they are legally allowed to be (10% of your rent), so expect a $200+ late fee if you happen to be late that month.
Beautiful apartment and utilities. Maintenance is also great and quick to respond. However, the leasing office is unorganized and unfriendly. I paid $135 a month to get the secured parking, only the have my car broken into. I told a young woman at the leasing office about this, so that they could look at the security cameras and let others in the building know. When I checked back in a few weeks later, the leasing manager had heard nothing about it. Keep in mind, I also reported this to Grey Star. I did not get the feeling that the staff cares about residents safety.
Also, while the pool is beautiful, it is often overcrowded on weekends with people who are not residents and blare music. Not sure how these people are getting in?
Overall, the apartment was great, but it is not worth the cost and the consistent additional charges. Especially for the lack of security in downtown San Antonio.
Recently moved out from the apartments and left with many friends and a perspective that San Antonio is indeed a cultural city based on community and love to one another. Management does a VERY good job keeping up with events and is very attentive to all aspects of the building. I’m very thankful for everything Inspire Downtown keep up the good work.
I’ve been a resident at Inspire for 2 years now and it’s been a 5 star experience up until recently. When I first moved in, we were told that we could validate parking for visitors up to 60 hours a month. This was a great benefit to have and the process was seamless. Unfortunately, the building recently upgraded their parking system and has taken away this benefit from the residents, leaving us with no options to let our visitors park for free. The leasing office also went about taking this benefit away in silence and never formally communicated this to the residents directly, leaving us having to find out the hard way. When inquiring about alternatives, they could only offer paying for an additional parking spot ($80/mo) for another vehicle which has to be registered in their system because the new system reads our plates to open the gates. Seeing how this option wasn’t viable as I have different visitors come all the time (in different vehicles), I’m left with no choice but to force my friends and family to pay for their parking now. What was disappointing was how the leasing office left us in the dark as we complained about it and has not acknowledged our dissatisfaction with the new changes.
Future renters beware, besides the parking situation, our complex has also been experiencing a lot of theft. Amazon packages stolen in the hallways. Cars and storage units being broken into. And, just like the parking, the leasing office has left us in the dark as the residents continue to escalate their concerns. It’s gotten to the point where residents are organizing community meetings to discuss these issues, with several residents on board.
I used to love living here, however this is no longer the ‘luxury’ apartment complex I moved into two years ago.
I love living at Inspire Downtown. The management staff goes above and beyond to accommodate. The maintenance staff is quick and efficient. The amenities are great. The views are breathtaking from the amenity deck. My apartment has great views as well. My apartment meets my needs, and I love the layout. Looking forward to many great years at Inspire Downtown! - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
